Social Investment: an overview

Stars of UK social enterprise explain social investment

The UK's Cabinet Office has released an animated video to go back to basics and explain social investment.

Starring social entrepreneurs from the UK such as Patchwork People's Gill and Marg, as well as Tom Hooper, founder of Third Space Learning, the animation produced by Matter&Co has been released as the G8's Social Impact Investment Taskforce launches its final report at Downing Street, to help grow a global market for social investment.

There are approximately 180,000 social enterprises in the UK that contribute at least £55bn to the economy according to the Cabinet Office. Many of these organisations are eligible to apply for social investment, a source of sustainable income that they can use to expand their social reach.

The UK’s top social investment conference Good Deals is back in London on 24 and 25 November. Super early bird are now sold out but some discounted tickets are still available
