Rothera Sharp Joins Forces with Abbeyfield
Law firm Rothera Sharp is aiming to boost housing and support for older people by announcing care organisation Abbeyfield as its chosen charity for the next 12 months.
Operating on a not-for-profit basis, Abbeyfield offers a range of accommodation designed to support the different stages of later life and encourage independence, choice and dignity.
This includes sheltered housing, care homes, nursing homes and independent living. Money raised by Rothera Sharp over the coming year will go towards supporting Abbeyfield’s work in Nottinghamshire.
Commenting on the announcement of the chosen charity, Jayne Smith, partner at Rothera Sharp, said:
“As a firm, we choose a different worthy cause every year to lend our support to and raise money via various events, including sponsored dress down Fridays and a staff / client quiz.
“Abbeyfield provides vital support for older members of the community, relying on volunteers and donations. This is something that we are keen to lend our backing to and raise awareness of.
“As well as our own initiatives, we will be working closely with the team at Abbeyfield to help promote and support their own events calendar in the county throughout 2013.”
As part of its fundraising efforts for Abbeyfield, Rothera Sharp will be taking part in a special initiative in May, that will see the firm offering a number of wills free of charge in return for a donation to Abbeyfield.

Rothera Sharp’s chosen charity for 2012 was Midlands Women’s Aid, with over £1,000 being raised to help support victims of domestic violence over the course of the year.
