Hugh Swainson is a partner at Buzzacott, within the Charity and Not-for-Profit team. A specialist in audit and advisory services, Hugh has a particular interest in social enterprise and applying the innovation seen in these organisations to the wider charitable sector. He is also a keen advocate of reporting social value, the way in which charities record their social value creation (or impact), including SROI methodologies, and linking social value creation to social finance.
With over 10 years’ experience in the sector, Hugh works for a range of clients on international audits including expanding start-ups and NGOs with established international networks. He is experienced at supporting clients that are developing their international networks, financial controls and reporting environments.
Outside of work, Hugh assists on a programme for young social entrepreneurs, which has included the delivery of finance workshops, reviewing business forecasting and helping entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas.
