Jovan is currently the head of public affairs at Social Enterprise UK. Prior to joining Social Enterprise UK, he gained extensive experience working in and around Westminster for many years. Holding degrees from both Goldsmiths College – University of London, and Selwyn College – University of Cambridge, Jovan first started his political career working for Tom Watson MP when he was deputy leader of the Labour Party (2017), before working with backbench Labour MPs (2018-2020).
Upon finishing his studies in 2022 he joined the External Relations Team at the Labour Party, and then ran as the Labour Party candidate for Clacton at the 2024 General Election. He was one of the youngest candidates contesting a parliamentary seat in 2024 and the only BAME candidate under 30.
Since then, Jovan has worked on political campaigns and now leads on Public Affairs engagement for Social Enterprise UK, building and bolstering our political relationships and strengthening the case for social enterprises. In addition to this, he can often be seen opining on LBC, Times Radio, Good Morning Britain and Jeremy Vine. He is on the board of The World Reimagined (led by former singer Michelle Gayle) and Social Ark CIC (led by Lisa Stepanovic MBE).
