Rodrigo Villar is setting a new standard in business. His commitment to disrupt business as usual is changing the status quo. As a social entrepreneur himself and founding partner at New Ventures, he has succeeded in consolidating a team of driven individuals that continue to innovate in the impact investing world.
As a pioneer in the impact entrepreneurship ecosystem since 2004, Rodrigo and New Ventures have strived and succeeded in empowering the disrupters to challenge the status quo to design the society we strive to live in. Driven by this mission and collaborating with the public and private sector, New Ventures executes various acceleration programs, operates two investment vehicles, Adobe Capital and VIWALA, and annually organises the largest impact investing conference in the region: FLII.
In addition to New Ventures, he is also a recognized Ashoka Fellow and leading voice in Latin America’s impact sector. Rodrigo is currently chair of the GSG National Advisory Board in Mexico and sits on the board of various portfolio companies of Adobe Capital, CI Banco and Iniciativa Mexico.
Rodrigo has a Master of Business Administration from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management degree from the ITESM.
Impact investment in Latin America should accelerate with speed and forcefulness, says Mexico’s Rodrigo Villar. The region’s social entrepreneurs have enormous potential, but urgent social and environmental problems to solve.
