Plum is the Deputy Head of NPC's Funders Team and provides advice on effective giving to a range of NPC's clients, including individuals and families, corporate foundations and grant-making trusts. This work has included helping various family trusts as they start out with their giving, supporting a major corporate foundation to evaluate and communicate its impact, and sourcing, researching and selecting candidates from around the world for the prestigious philanthropy award of a European bank. She also works with funders on social investment, and is currently helping to develop a social impact framework for a property fund.

Plum regularly trains advisors from private banks, lawyers and family offices on developing their philanthropy knowledge, and has advised an international investment bank on the development of a distinctive philanthropy offering for its clients.

Before joining NPC in 2003, Plum was Head of European Equity Strategy at Merrill Lynch. She has also worked with small businesses and charities in London and Cape Town.
