Desktop disco brings SEWF 2020 to a close
The Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) 2020 concluded with a socially-distanced disco last week, as delegates around the world jived at their desks to classic floor-filler We Are Family, performed by music legend Nile Rodgers and Chic.
This year's SEWF was a very different event to the one that was originally planned to take place in Nova Scotia in Canada. Speaking as this year's online-only event drew to a close, Gerry Higgins, the event founder and managing director, said that when it gradually became clear earlier this year that the Covid-19 pandemic meant that a face-to-face event would be impossible, "we didn't know what we were facing".
"There was no template for this," he added.
But the event team, the global social enterprise community and funders pulled together to create a more accessible, bigger and more diverse SEWF than ever before, said Higgins.
The event wrap video above shows some of the highlights.
